Barbara Chalfant
Presbyter for Congregational Life
Barbara Chalfant guides and equips presbytery members and ministries in exploring new opportunities for enriching congregational life. She also serves as the staff liaison to the Committee on Nominations, the Committee on Representation, and the Youth Council.
A graduate of Union Presbyterian Seminary and a certified Christian educator, Barbara has served congregations in Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Virginia.
Prior to joining the staff of Presbytery of the James, Barbara was associate for mission for Presbytery of West Virginia where she worked with ministries involved in peacemaking, social justice, hunger action, disaster response, and serving older adults.
