Disaster Relief Team Returning to North Carolina in June

POJ’s Disaster Relief Ministry is organizing a return trip to New Bern, North Carolina in early June to continue aiding the area in recovering from Hurricane Florence. Volunteers of all skill levels are desired.

The trip is June 1-8. The group will leave from Southminster Church, which is providing logistics and accounting support. In North Carolina, the team will stay at West New Bern Presbyterian Church.

As a participant, you can:

  • Develop new skills.
  • Have one of the most positive experiences of your life.
  • Make a difference in the lives of very grateful people.

New participants should plan to attend an orientation meeting on May 22 at 6 p.m.

Participants are encouraged to contribute to the trip’s expenses as they are able. A suggested contribution of $200 per person covers the cost of travel, food, lodging, and supplies.

To join, contact trip leader Brown Pearson by email or phone (804-347-8895). Brown is an elder at Southminister, moderator of the Disaster Relief Ministry, and has been leading POJ trips for many years.
